Our Story

Our Story

SoloMom was started by a solo mom who got tired of being told to stay strong when what she needed was a plan. The advice she found online came in two flavors: pity or platitudes. Neither paid a bill. Neither planned a Saturday. So she built the site she had been looking for.

Who we are

SoloMom is an independent online publication, founded in 2026 and written by our editorial team, The Success Squad. We cover money, income-building, and family life for solo moms in the United States. The short version: SoloMom is where solo moms build income, options, and good days with their kids.

Who we serve

We write for solo moms who are building: income, options, and good days with their kids. Practical, warm, direct. Every page here should leave you with the next concrete thing to do.

Our reader is a mom raising kids on her own, by circumstance or by choice, who wants numbers, steps, and ideas that fit one-parent hours. If that sounds like you, you are home.

What we cover

Money (Make the Math Work), Business (Build Income on Your Hours), and Fun with Kids (Solo Weekends That Don’t Wreck You). Underneath all three runs SOS, Stories of Success: real, verified solo moms who built something, told in their own words.

Start with the four hubs: Money: Make the Math Work, Business: Build Income on Your Hours, Fun with Kids: Solo Weekends That Don’t Wreck You, and Stories of Success.

What we leave to others

Custody strategy, court process, and co-parent conflict. Other sites own that lane and do it well. We hold the forward lane. We never pretend solo motherhood is easy. We just don’t camp there. One line of acknowledgment, then the tool, the number, the story, the step.

Who writes this

The Success Squad, our editorial team, fronts everything you read here. Featured women in SOS stories are real and verified before we publish. No invented quotes, no stock-photo founders, no fake testimonials. If we can’t verify it, we don’t run it.

The Success Squad is a collective masthead. Articles publish under the team byline rather than individual names, and the illustrated characters you see across the site are its cast: drawings, always presented as drawings, never as photos of real staff. The solo mom who founded SoloMom stays anonymous by choice; her story is the one at the top of this page.

How we verify

Every program, benefit, or tax figure we name links to an official source, usually a .gov page, and money content carries a plain disclaimer: general information, not financial or legal advice. Business stories report what a specific woman did, never what you will make. SOS features are checked against linkable sources before publication, and quotes are reproduced verbatim or labeled as paraphrase.

Where to find us

SoloMom publishes here first. These five profiles are our official channels, and the only places we post:
